“The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “No one sends greetings (or prayers of peace) upon me but Allah returns my soul to me so that I may return his greetings.”Reference: Abu Dawud

Also, he said in another hadith:

He reported that he had heard God’s Messenger say, “Do not turn your houses into graves,* and do not make my grave a place to gather as for visitation, but invoke blessings on me, for your blessing will reach me wherever you are.” *This is most probably a figurative expression indicating that a house in which prayer is not offered is like a grave, as God is not worshipped there. So it is those who believe in him, honor him, help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him,- it is they who will prosper.” (al araf ayat, 157)

5. Getting the Prophet Intercession

Ibn Mas’ud reported God’s Messenger as saying, “The one who will be nearest me on the day of resurrection will be the one who invoked most blessings on me.” (Note: this hadith is not well-supported).

Hazrat Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam History

It’s hard to squeeze the autobiography of Mohammed, allallahu alaihi wasallam, into short paragraphs. So, we’ll take short snaps of his glorious life from birth to death.

Early Life

  • Mohammed was born in 570 A.D in Macca, a barren stretch in the Arabian pinausala. The year in which he was born was named “The elephant year” after the king of Abyssinia. (الحبشة in Arabic), Abraha rallied his legions of elephants to the Kabba and bent on destroying it but Allah failed all of his wicked plans and inflicted his punishment on him.
  • Mohammed lived orphan throughout his childhood. His father passed away before seeing his son’s birth while his mother, Aminah bint Wahb, died after heralding his prophecy. She said” I saw a light coming out of me that illuminated the palaces of the Levant.
  • After the death of his two parents, his upbringing fell to his grandfather Abd al-Muttalib whose death took his soul Mohammed he was only nine. From this point, Mohammed lived with his uncle, Abdullah ibn Abd al-Muttalib, who took care of him in his adolescence.

Youth and Marriage

  • In his youth, Mohammed worked as a merchant with his uncle. He was leading caravans along the road to the levant back and forth. One of his journeys was with a lad, Misra, who was a servant for khadija bint khuwaylid, a wealthy widow woman from Mecca.
  • Khadija exposed his desire to marry Mohammed for her friend Nafisa after she heard about his good merits and morals from the tales her lad conveyed to her.
  • In Sira’s books, khadija was estimated to be older than Prophet Mohammed by 15 years, and some claim that his uncle proposed to her to marry his nephew. After the marriage, Mohammed was a father to four girls and he sadly witnessed the death of his little two sons.
  • When Mohammed reached 40 years, he used to retreat to the Cave of Hira (غار حراء in Arabic) to contemplate nature and mediate.

Call to Massgae

  • once, in one of those retreats, Mohammed received the first verses of revelation which was ” “Read in the name of thy Lord who created; [He] created the human being from blood clot… It felt as though he was clasped by a giant hand that squeezed him so that he could barely breathe Stunned, worried, he instantly sought out his wife Khadija , who reassured him and heralded him with his prophethood.
  • The revelation Mohammed received in the Cave of Hira has lasted for 23 years and formed the massage of Islam, the Quran, and the holy sacred book. The spread of the prophet’s message wasn’t easy. It was a cascade of suffering, patience, negotiation, and war.
  • Mecca at this time was rife with polytheism and dominated by Quraysh, a powerful tribe that had a concentration of wealth, and for fear of losing its economic domination, it was reluctant to Mohammed massage.
  • Quraysh’s reluctance took many forms: first, they rejected it and mocked him and when things derailed from their normal course, the rejection turned into an assault, a desire to kill on the message in its infancy by tormenting the believers, the impoverished who found salvation in Mohammed’s message, and courageously announced their belief to their masters.

The Conflict

  • The polytheist, wealthy people tormented their servants (who were enslaved to their masters) to force them to return to their idol cult. But believers relentlessly clung to Islam. When the torture become unbearable, Mohammed allowed his people to immigrate to the Habsha, and sent his messenger to Najashi, who was a fair king, to receive his delegation.
  • According to sira’s books, Mohammed spent about 13 years spreading the message of Islam in Mecca. For the first three years, he was clandestinely inviting his relatives and his close people to Islam as Allah said: وأنذر عشيرتك الأقربين but after the third year, Allah ordered him to declare his message explicitly.
  • Those ten years were the hardest for believers, especially the disfranchised people who were exposed to suffering, seizing, and agony but never thought to return to their old beliefs
  • Mohammed began to spread the message even further away from Mecca. In the tenth year of the massage, he invited the tribes of Taif but his message fell on deaf ears. In this year, he lost his uncle and his wife and endured a lot of pain and suffering but he doesn’t surrender- since Allah was his guide and protector…
  • When Quraysh vehemently insisted on killing Mohammed and mapped out their plot, Allah rescued him and told him to immigrate to al Madinah. Quran narrated the story of Mohammed leaving his house amid a sea of polytheists poised to Stab him in surah Yasin.
˹It is as if˺ We have put shackles around their necks up to their chins, so their heads are forced up, and have placed a barrier before them and a barrier behind them and covered them ˹all˺ up, so they fail to see ˹the truth˺. (Yasin. ayat 9)

Immigration to Yathrib

  • Mohammed immigrated to Al Madinah when he was 53 years old, escorted by his sincere friend Abu Bakr. In this new place, he laid up the foundation of Islam teachings.
  • Almadina, also known as Yathrib, was an amalgamation of various strands: immigrants, indigenous tribes who converted to Islam (known as Al-Ansar), and Jewish.
  • Mohammed enacted a constitution that organized the relationships between all of the people in Madinah by defining their rights and duties.

  • When Muslims settled in Madina, Allah permitted them to fight the polytheists who took over their left-out houses and processions and expelled them from their homes. Muslims encountered non-believers in two battles (Badr, and Ahd) before they signed a compact: a truce for about 10 years, known as salah al hudaibiya.
  • This peace period had many benefits for Muslims and resulted in the spread of the massage beyond the Arabian peninsula as Mohammed sent messages to the kings, in the name of Allah, inviting them to Islam.
  • Quraish breached its agreement by aiding a non-muslim tribe in its fight against a Muslim tribe. As a result Mohammed unwaveringly announced his war against them. He rallied a legion of 10 k warriors and headed to Mecca.
  • Quraish masters were dreaded. Outnumbered by the Muslim army, they sent one of their leaders Abu Sufyan ibn Harb to negotiate terms but Mohammed refused to meet him. 8 years after leaving his home, Mohammed returned as triumphant. He announced that he’d forgive all people should they announce their conversion to Islam. Only 9 people were killed on this day.

When Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Said Amen 3 Times?

It’s recorded in Sunna, that prophet Mohammed ascended the podium. He stopped on the first threshold and said Amen, then went up to the next threshold, saying Amen for the second time, then made his way to the third one repeating Ameen. That’s seemed a little perplexing for his companion who can’t help asking him why he told Ameen there times?

The prophet answered:

: “Gabriel, peace be upon him, came to me and said: Whoever witness that month of Ramadan and is not forgiven, then he will enter Hell; Then God kept him away. Say: Amen. I said: Amen. And whoever meets his parents, or one of them, and does not honor them, then dies, and enters Hell; Then God kept him away, say: Amen. I said: Amen, and whoever you mentioned is with him, and he did not pray for you, and he died, so he entered the Fire. Then God kept him away, saying: Amen. I said: Amen. (reference: al-Albani)

From this hadith, we can conclude that not praying to Mohammed, isn’t a benign manner so we should always say sallallahu alaihi wasallam.

The Final Sermon of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)

in the tenth year after immigration, the prophet Mohammed stood on Arafa mountain to give his last speech to Muslims and on that day Allah revealed to him this verse:

“.15 This day I have perfected for you your religion, and have bestowed upon you My bounty in full measure, and have been pleased to assign for you Islam as your religion. (Surah 5 Al-Ma’idah, Ayat 3-3)

This address presented some important topics in Islam and below are some parts of it in English:

Praise be to God who we seek His help and forgiveness and repent to Him. We seek refuge in God to protect us from the evils of thoughts and from the evils of our deeds. Who God guides him can’t be strayed, and who Allah misleads, no one will guide him. I believe there is no god but Allah Who has no partner, and Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.

I want to advise you, servants of God, to fear God, and urge you to obey his teachings. O people, lend me your attentive ears as I will explain to you now as I might not be able to meet you after this year. O people, your blood and your honor are as sacred as this day and this month in this country (meaning it’s haram to kill each other). I have delivered the message so be the witness. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners.

All things before Islam are null and void, including usury but if you repent, take back your principal amount; neither you cause harm to someone, nor you be harmed. Allah ordained there is no usury as I start by waiving all of my uncle’s interests.

Having said, O people, that Satan has despaired of being worshiped in your land, but he has consented to be obeyed in other than that of your deeds, so beware of his danger on your religion.

As for now, O people, your women have a right over you and you have a right over them. Your right over them is to be only owned by you, and do not enter anyone you hate into your homes without your permission, and do not commit adultery.

If they did no, so Allah allowed you to admonish them, refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly), if they return to obedience, you should provide them with food and cloth kindly and treat them well. you take them in the name of Allah and Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers
