reliever of my distress.” [Ibn Hibban, 972]اللهم إني عبدك، ابن عبدك، ابن أمتك، ناصيتي بيدك، ماضٍ فيَّ حكمك، عدلٌ فيَّ قضاؤك، أسألك بكل اسمٍ هو لك، سميتَ به نفسَك، أو علَّمتَه أحدًا من خلقك، أو أنزلتَه في كتابك، أو استأثرتَ به في علم الغيب عندك؛ أن تجعل القرآنَ ربيع قلبي، ونور صدري، وجلاء حزني، وذهاب همِّي

In Hadith by Prophet Mohamed. if anyone says this prayer, Allah will remove his sadness and replace his sorrow with rejoicing and happiness

4.Dua When You’re Depressed

Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You].” [Qur’an,
ربنا افرغ علينا صبرًا وتوفّنا مسلمين

Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us, and

forgive us, and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the

“O Allah! Set right for me my religion, which is the safeguard of my affairs. And set right for me

make this life, for me, (a source) of abundance for every good and make my death (a source)

1. Surah Kahf, Isra, Taha and Anbiya

How Can Islam Help With Depression, Anxiety, and Mental Health?

All people struggle through difficult times of grief, trauma, and sadness, and Allah does acknowledge this fact. Even our prophet Mohamed had an intense dose of sadness in his life when he lost his parents, wife, and his little children. Allah (swt) has mentioned in Surah Al-Baqara:

We shall certainly test you by afflicting you with fear, hunger, loss of properties, and lives and fruits. Give glad tidings, then, to those who remain patient; There is no commentary by Abul Maududi available for this verse.

1.Physical Activity

According to many studies, being in motion is one of the best cures for depression and getting rid of negative feelings. Exercises reduce levels of stress and pressure in our bodies and make us feel relaxed.

Islam encourages us to perform exercises like swimming, walking, camel-riding for its tremendous role in alleviating stress and rebalancing our feelings.

2. Sleeping

Allah (SWT) said in Surah Younus: He is the One who made for you the night, so that you may have rest in it, and (made) the day to see.

Sleeping at night is a robust cure for both mental and physical health. Many people who suffer from depression have sleeping disorders like interrupted or irregular sleeping. The right style is sleeping early at night and waking up early at dawn.

3.Social Relationships

As human beings, we’re wired to connect with others, not to be isolated. In fact, loneliness is one of the major culprits of depression. That’s the reason why marriage, building families, and being in touch with our relatives and parents are important for our mental health.

There are many verses that galvanize Muslims to cooperate together. ” And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. (Ala-Maududi, 2). And of course, people won’t cooperate if they’re isolated, thus, building good relationships is at the core of the perfect lifestyle.

4. Recreation

Recreational activities replenish our souls and distract us away from the burdens of life. For example, making an expedition or having a tour and enjoying the beauty of nature. Everything is in flowing motion.
